A priest then carries out the traditional abhishekam ceremony, in which the clay models are bathed in milk and water while lighted lamps are waved in front of the shrine. Aartis and bhajans are also performed in honour of the deity. In addition to this, devotees also offer flowers and fruits to the shrine.
